Let’s See If I Can Finish This One: Ben 5000: Dark Isn’t Always Bad

Within my small circle of friends, I am known as a proponent of Ben/Gwen pairing. I solidified my position when I released two stories to FanFiction about them. One story, described as being ‘cute’ and ‘heartwarming’, was about the cousins playing games, betting, and kiss-the-winner, titled ‘Losing is Winning’.

The other one, a multi-chaptered story titled ‘Light Isn’t Always Good’, was about the cousins getting involved in an interplanetary feud between betrothed siblings. The siblings each took and manipulated one of the cousins into fighting their side. During their time with the siblings, Ben and Gwen realized their feelings for each other.

My LSIICFTO Challenge this time is to make its sequel.

I’ve been promising my reviewers, my friends, even myself, that I’d start (and finish!) this sequel. I’ve written three chapters of it, but up to now it just sounds so…elongated. This looks like the beginning of a long and drawn out story. Perhaps even novel material.

As such, I’ve employed a novel writing program, yWriter 4 from SpaceJock Software, to help me with my idea gathering and the putting them down onto paper, er, file. But my success have been…limited.

True, I’ve divided the story into easily manageable chapters and scenes, but the idea itself seems to have stunted. I think I need to go back and take a different path. We’ll see in about a week or so. Will I be able to at least make it past the first scene of Chapter 4? Will I use my work as an excuse to not write? Will I be able to finish this one?

Only time will tell.
